Profile - Nicholas Burch
Nicholas Burch is an Associate Director of Brian Ward & Partners and has worked closely with the firm’s Managing Director Brian Ward since 2005.
He is a graduate from Monash University with Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Science degrees.
Nicholas’ experiences and competencies include:
- developing and documenting generational succession plans for a large number of family held assets and conducting litigation to settle disputes that have arisen within family held assets;
- instructing in a number of sporting appeals;
- assisting in the mediation and documentation of commercial disputes;
- documenting joint ventures in the construction and renewable energy industries;
- conducting complex litigation matters in the Federal and Supreme Court of Victoria;
- a detailed knowledge of the fiduciary obligations of directors and officers under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) and providing advisory and dispute resolution services thereto;
- advising various clients about employment issues including the drafting of employment contracts, deeds of release, statutory and contractual obligations and redundancy;
- acting for a sports national governing body in the conduct of a due diligence and identification litigation risk; and
- project managing and documenting corporate reconstructions, rollovers and restructures.
Nicholas plays a valuable supporting role to the Managing Director and plays an important mentoring role to graduates and junior solicitors within the firm.
