History
Brian Ward founded the firm in 1976 and continues to lead its day to day operations. He reports to a board chaired by independent director Malcolm Speed, formerly Chief Executive Officer of Cricket Australia and more recently of the International Cricket Council.
Sue Phillips, Penelope Pengilley and Jane Kupsch, along with Brian Ward and Malcolm Speed constitute the board of the practice which was incorporated in 2002.
Before joining Brian Ward & Partners, Sue Phillips led the legal department of a government agency and then joined a national legal practice where she led a team providing large scale commercial dispute resolution.
More recently, Penelope Pengilley joined the firm to supplement the firms dispute resolution capability and to lead a corporate advisory, reconstruction and insolvency group.
Jane Kupsch is a Law Institute of Victoria accredited commercial litigation specialist. She examines applicants for accreditation and sits on the specialization committee.
The firm has a 35 year plus history of providing quality corporate advisory and dispute resolution services to selected corporations dealing with challenge or change.
